Panorama Meats’ Colorado Ranchers Featured at Whole Foods Market Colorado Stores This Fall

Denver, CO, October 9, 2012 —

During October and November, all of the grass-fed beef sold at many Colorado Whole Foods Market stores will be from cattle raised by Colorado family ranchers.

Despite a historic drought that has made life difficult for farmers and ranchers alike, the seven Colorado ranchers who provide beef to Whole Foods Market stores through Panorama Meats will provide locally raised, Colorado-processed, USDA certified organic, 100 percent grass-fed beef to 11 Colorado Whole Foods Market stores during the two-month promotion.

All seven are local multi-generational family ranchers who raise 100 percent grass-fed and finished cattle and take seriously their role as stewards of delicate Colorado rangelands. Their cattle are raised strictly in pastures and never confined to feedlots.

Panorama’s Colorado ranchers include KW Farms in Alamosa, Kiowa Valley Organics in Roggen, Maytag Mountain Ranch in Cotopaxi, Mountain Island Ranch/Bieser Creek in Glade Park, Blue Range Ranch/San Juan Ranch in Saguache, Salazar Ranch in Manassa and Almonson Farms in Del Norte. Whole Foods Market stores that will carry their beef during October and November include Pearl Street, Ideal Market and Baseline in Boulder, Superior in Louisville, Highlands Ranch, Westminster, and Colfax, Washington Park, Colorado Blvd, Cherry Creek and Capitol Hill in Denver.

Panorama Meats, based in Vina, Calif., is the nation’s largest producer of organic, 100 percent grass-fed and grass-finished beef. The Colorado promotion is part of a larger program in which Panorama offers locally raised beef in several of its regional markets.

Panorama cattle are raised entirely on pastures of grasses, legumes and range forage. Cattle are never implanted with hormones, fed animal by-products or treated with antibiotics.  All animals are raised in compliance with the Born and Raised in the USA® verification program.

Panorama’s ranchers treat their animals humanely in low-stress environments and employ pasture-rotation and land-management practices that promote animal health and protect delicate rangeland ecosystems.
